Dr. Childs’ passion for healing and physical wellness stemmed from her roots as a competitive athlete and playing collegiate basketball. In 2004, after experiencing her second ACL tear in less than four years, she already saw her future career in motion. Through her own rehab experiences she saw the first-hand benefits of high-quality care, which enabled her to return to the court to enjoy the sport she loves.
Now, in addition to being a licensed Physical Therapist, Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Lymphedema & Wound Therapist (CLWT), she is a wife and mom of four. Dr. Childs’ has a passion for working with her clients to get their desired results! In the 15+ years that she has dedicated to this field she has helped clients to recover from surgeries, acute and chronic injuries using her manual therapy skills. She has also expanded her knowledge and specializes in wound care, lymphedema, vestibular, and prenatal/postnatal care. Starting Wellness in Motion has enabled her to offer holistic care like nutrition, sleep and stress management that she passionately feels called to provide.
Dr. Childs’ has a Bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University where she majored in Health Sciences and minored in Aging and Adult Life and a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. Her continuing education has led to additional certificates in wound care and lymphedema.
